Getting started with Orbit
Welcome to Orbit
Orbit is a social platform for small, close-knit groups. Everything here is captured in the moment — no uploads, no editing, no performance. Here's how to get going.
1. Create your account
Download the Orbit app and sign up with your phone number. We use your number to verify you're a real person and to make it easier for people you know to find you (you control this in Privacy Settings).
2. Create or join a group
On the home screen, tap New Group and give it a name — "House", "Team", "Weekend crew", whatever fits. Then invite people directly from your contacts.
If someone sent you an invite link, tap it and you'll be added automatically.
3. Make your first post
Tap the + button in the center of the tab bar. Your camera opens immediately. Take a photo, record a short video, or switch to text. Tap Post when you're ready.
That's it. Your group sees it the moment you post.

A few things to know upfront:
- You can't upload from your camera roll. Posts must be created live, in the app, at the moment they happen. This is intentional.
- Groups are private by default. Nothing you post is visible outside your group.
- There's no feed algorithm. Posts appear in chronological order, newest first.
