Creating and managing groups
Groups are at the center of Orbit. They're private spaces for the people in your life.
Creating a group
- From the home screen, tap New Group
- Give your group a name (you can change this later)
- Add an optional group photo
- Invite members from your contacts or via a shareable link
Group size
Groups are capped at a set maximum to keep things intimate. Orbit is designed for people who actually know each other — not large communities or public spaces.
Inviting people
- Via contacts — If someone in your contacts has Orbit, you'll see them in the invite list.
- Via link — Generate a one-time invite link from Group Settings. The link expires after 24 hours.
Anyone you invite can decline. You won't be notified if they do.
Group roles
| Role | Can do |
|---|---|
| Admin | Change group name/photo, add/remove members, delete group |
| Member | Post, react, reply |
The person who creates a group is its first admin. You can promote any member to admin.
Leaving a group
Go to Group Settings → Leave Group. If you're the only admin, you'll need to promote someone else first.
Deleting a group
Only an admin can delete a group. All posts and replies are permanently removed. This cannot be undone.
