Community guidelines

Orbit is built on a simple belief: that a small set of clear, firm rules creates a healthier environment than a long list of gray-area policies.

What Orbit is for

Orbit is a space for authentic connection between people who know each other. It's for the moments of real life — the casual, unfiltered, unremarkable, and meaningful things that make up a day.

What's not allowed

The following are prohibited and will result in content removal and possible account suspension:

  • Harassment — Targeting, threatening, or repeatedly antagonizing another person
  • Hate speech — Content that degrades people based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin
  • Sexual content — Explicit or suggestive sexual content of any kind
  • Illegal content — Content that violates applicable law, including non-consensual intimate imagery
  • Impersonation — Pretending to be another real person in a deceptive way
  • Spam — Repetitive, automated, or commercial posting behavior

What we won't over-moderate

We believe in open, authentic expression. We will not remove content simply because it is:

  • Uncomfortable or awkward
  • Controversial in opinion
  • Emotionally raw or candid
  • Unflattering

The line is harm, not discomfort.

How rules are enforced

Orbit reviews reported content. First violations typically result in a warning or content removal. Severe or repeated violations result in account suspension or permanent ban.

We do not use automated moderation for most content. Human review is the standard.
